The Russian team is in the semifinals. The first to play were Glimakova/Chubarova who scored the first point after defeating Miyasaka/Yanase 6:2, 6:1. The men’s duo Burmakin/Kuptsov outplayed Aizawa/Yamamoto 6:0, 4:6, 6:1. ‘It’s beach tennis where you can win the first set 6:0 and then lose the second. Sometimes your opponent can start playing better or your luck can change’, commented on the match the Russian Nikita Burmakin.

Russia will face one of the best teams in the world – Brazil, who outplayed the French team in a tough battle 2-1.

The #1 seed, Italy, won the matches against Germany 3-0. They will play against Spain who defeated Venezuela in a very tough tie. The outcome was decided in the mixed doubles match: Ramos-Viera/Sitja defeated Guedez/Diaz 7:5, 6:1.

In the junior competition, the Russian team won the third tie of the Round-Robin against team Cyprus. In the next round the players will either face Brazil or Italy.

There are a lot of novelties this year. One of them is that the ITF representatives are taken to the championship’s location by the yachts and boats of the Transport company ‘The Burevestnik Group’.

The ITF Beach Tennis World Team Championship 2015 takes place from 15th to 19th of July, 2015 at the National Tennis Center in Moscow. This year the organizers agreed with the All-Russian Beach Sports Associations that the final will be held in the Center for Beach Sports at the Vodniy Stadion.
