Both tournaments are part of the 2016 ITF Beach Tennis Tour and the German Tennis Federation (DTB) Beach Tennis Circuit. The events will include an ITF U14 Juniors event for boys and girls as well as a special Beach Tennis Academy featuring current women's #1 player in the world, Maraike Biglmaier (Germany).
The event will offer full hospitality to the top ranked men's and women's doubles teams, on the Acceptance List, from May 27-30, 2016 per ITF rules. The Ingelheim Open will start on Thursday, May 26th, with an 8-Team Qualifying event where players will compete for spots in the tournament's 16-team main draw. The frubiase Beach Tennis Open begins with qualification on Friday, May 27th. Main draw play begins Saturday morning. The entry deadline for both events is Thursday, May 5th.
