The Russian junior beach tennis team gets the bronze at the first ITF Beach Tennis World Team Junior Championship. In a tough match the team trained by Artyom Paramonychev lost to the Italian team 3-0. Team Russia won three ties during the championship, and lost only to the favourites of the tournament – Brazil and Italy.

«The Italians are a very strong team with experienced players, but we showed a very decent game. However, we have a lot to work on. Sometimes the Italians felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately, in the matches we often lost when the score was «deuce», and we had a lot of such moments. The Italian players had an advantage because there is a League in Italy «FIT» where the juniors play against adult players and gain tournament experience. I believe that a third place is a success»«, - told us the captain of the junior team Artyom Paramonychev.

The Captain of the Italian team pointed out the good preparation of the Russian team: «It's a good team. I watch them playing and I suppose that there are many players who have tennis backgrounds, which is normal for beach tennis» He also stressed the importance of junior competitions: «Junior beach tennis is developing rapidly in Italy. You need to organize tournaments in sports schools to popularize this discipline».
