1. You were close to triumph, but all the time something did not work, what do you feel now after execution plans?
Nikita: Very positive! I am happy about good and stable game. We had a hard draw, but we didn’t lose a single set and went confidently to victory. Patience and hard work were rewarded and now I want to play even better! Now we are in Brazil, preparing for the next G1 tournament.
I already had such a success on the World Team Beach Tennis Championships in men's doubles, where Serezha Kuptsov and me beat all the top doubles in the world, and also in the mixed doubles at the European Championships, where Dasha Churakova and me won the tournament. After these victories I feel like it is easier to win psychologically for me.
2. Tell about the tournament organization.
Nikita: The organization is good, the first 4 seeded get apartment near the courts, they met us and took to the airport, organized tours around the island. There was a central court with sits for the viewers, and for the final games there was a judge and presenter, and also many spectators.
3. What was the toughest match in the tournament?
Nikita: The finale, of course! But we managed to do it even better than the previous matches, which were also very hard.
4. How do you think, which opponent from TOP-10 is invincible?
Nikita: I thought that Carli/Cappelletti double is the most difficult until this tournament. But I knew that it is always a chance to win, you just need to play well.
5. Your recipe of acclimatization for such a successful performance (because the weather in Russia and on sunny islands like Guadeloupe is different)
Nikita: Just pay attention to the regime and the rest, to use sunscreen. Usually acclimatization is more difficult, when I return home.
6. Your opinion about changes in the rules? Whether they were used in Guadeloupe?
Nikita: No special changes, all the same. Except that the prize for 1st and 2nd place became bigger, I am happy about it!
7. What are your plans for the season and how to prepare for KCHM?
Nikita: The plan is to train and play better! My dream is to hold the training camp in Italy before the WTC, I try to find the opportunity.
8. Maybe you want to thank someone?
Nikita: I want to thank my family, tournament partner in Guadeloupe Tommy Giovannini, also all partners in the previous tournaments, the Russian tennis Federation and tennis Federation of St. Petersburg, Vision\Rakkettone, my students and all who supported me and helped!
