Moscow will host the ITF Beach Tennis World Team Championships for the 6 time in July 11-16

The tournament was held for the first time in 2012 with 15 teams as participants. Every year the number of participants grew. And in 2015 the organizers decided to make the Junior World Team Championships for boys and girls together with WTC. In 2016 the Russian team won gold medal for the first time. This was a significant moment in the history of the tournament and beach tennis in Russia.
Every year the number of participants increases, so in 2017 organizers offer a new format: the main draw will consist of 24 teams only. Teams that have not been seeded in the main draw will play qualifying tournament for the right to enter the main draw. Each team should consist of four to six players. The captain may not be a part of playing team.

Junior tournament will be held in the age group under 14 years. Each Junior team should have 4 players and an adult captain/coach. Team can also have two reserve players.

The schedule of the World Team Championship 2017:

·         10 July - the official day of arrival of the main draw players / draw announce;

·         July 11 – the start of the tournament;

·         July 16 - the finals and the award ceremony;

·         July 17 - the day of departure.

Selection of Russian athletes for the national and Junior national teams will take place based on the results of the Russian Championships and Junior Russian Championships (under 15 years), which take place in Rybinsk on 01-04.06, as well as the Russian Cup and the Junior Russian Cup (under 17), which take place on 29.06-02.07.2017 in Samara.
